Technical Support ConsultantDerby, Derbyshire£27,000 - £35,000 per annum DOESince 1989, our client has been developing and supplying high-quality systems to librarians and knowledge services. They work hard to build and maintain service excellence and are passionate about delivering the very best to their customers.They are currently looking for a Technical Support Consultant to oversee all aspects of customers’ software implementation projects once a sale has been made.Our client’s solution is developed by a team of Microsoft Software Engineers and is continuously updated and improved to meet customer needs. The application is built in Microsoft SQL Server and is fully web based. You will not be expected to program, but you will be required to create scripts to extract and manipulate data within a SQL database.As a Technical Support Consultant, you will:- Primarily work with large corporate and government institution customers- Build strong customer relationships by providing high-quality advice and support- Advise customers on the most suitable set-up for their data and workflows- Write reports using SQL Server Reporting Services- Make sure that data migrated from customers’ legacy system(s) is accurately loaded and organised- Provide technical support and training to customers to ensure they can get the most out of the systemTo be considered as a Technical Support Consultant, you’ll need:- Experience of writing Microsoft SQL scripts- Database implementation experience- Advanced MS Excel skills- Familiarity with various data formats (such as CSV and XML)- Strong HTML and CSS skills- The ability to multitask and manage your own workload- A proactive approach to problem solving and the ability to work on your own initiative- Great communication skills and the technical knowledge to act as a trusted advisor to customers- The flexibility to travel to customers’ sites when requiredProject management experience would be beneficial to your application, as would experience with XSLT.Other organisations may call this role System Implementation Consultant, Technical Implementation Consultant, Technical Support Analyst, Implementation Project Manager, Technical Support Engineer, Customer Support Engineer, or Software Implementation Project Consultant.What are the benefits- Take on an important role where you’ll have the autonomy to make your mark- Excellent training and support to build your expertise- Join a culture of professionalism, passion and integrity- Comprehensive benefits packageWebrecruit and our clients are equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment.
