Job Description

Due to growth and ongoing project requirements aleading UK force in the field of commercial explosives and drilling & blasting services are looking to recruit a Control Systems & Instrumentation EngineerCommutable from: Nottingham, Mansfield, Alfreton, Chesterfield, Ilkeston, DerbySalary: £ 30,000 - £ 40,000 p.a. + benefitsSuitable for: Control Systems Engineer, Controls Engineer, Automation Engineer, PLC Software Engineer, C&I EngineerThe Role

  • To provide the control systems and instrumentation support for plant and MEMU fleet activities in EPC-UK’s core business
  • PLC code development and fault finding, PLC architecture and hardware, instrumentation development & configuration
  • HMI development and configuration
  • VSD/inverter configuration & fault finding
  • Control systems versioning for firmware and software, PID tuning
  • Control philosophy and network architecture
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations & best practice, including but not limited to IEC 61511, ADR and UK Explosives Regulations
  • Completion of Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS), proof testing, SAT testing, loop diagrams, low integrity hardware design
  • Process design & specification for new plant and MEMU trucks
  • Testing & commissioning of new plant and MEMU trucks as required
  • Detailed specifications and drawings of all electrical power, control and instrumentation circuitry
  • Support for other related maintenance activities at Rough Close Works and on MEMU trucks as required
  • Use and application of drawing software and specification packages as appropriate
    • The Person
  • HND Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • TUV SUD Certified Functional Safety Training in IEC 61511 is desirable
  • 5 years relevant practical experience of above
  • PLC programming, HMI design and application.
  • Use of drawing and schematic software
