Job Description

CK Group are currently recruiting for a Lead Bioinformatician to join on established research team with a growing biotechnology company. This role is offered on a permanent basis based in Alderley Park with hybrid working (2 days per week in the office,3 days per week at home)The Company: Our clients aim is to accelerate innovative drug discovery and collaborate with academia and industry to develop new approaches for discovering the medicines of the future.The Role: As a Lead Bioinformatician, you will have significant experience in integrating multi-omics data and delivering bioinformatics data analysis. Experience in people and project leadership is also required, as well as a proactive attitude to working collaborativelyResponsibilities will include to:

  • Leading the Bioinformatics team and its strategic activities;
  • Leading on the development of assets and methods to support bioinformatics capability;
  • Supporting the bioinformatics data analysis needs of industry and labs on specific areas of work;
  • Establishing and supporting strategic initiatives to develop in partnership bioinformatics solutions
Your Background:
  • PhD or significant equivalent experience in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Computer Science, or a related subject along with extensive experience in academic or industrial drug discovery.
  • An excellent understanding of bioinformatics techniques to integrate and analyse multi-omics data, such as genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, systems biology, and clinical informatics.
  • Understanding of the application of Bioinformatics in pharmacology and the drug discovery process and experience working with clinical data.
  • Significant experience in leading and coaching individuals and teams, ideally in matrix organisation structure.
