Job Description

Sustainability & ESG Analyst (admin) - Accrington (Hybrid), £28k p.a. pro rata for 12m fixed term contract. Focusing on data collection and interrogation to identify cost and carbon savings, with the opportunity to get involved with a diverse rangeof sustainability related projects, suiting someone who is naturally inquisitive with an eye for spotting data trends and anomalies, passionate about sustainability matters with effective communication skills. The Role - Sustainability & ESG Analyst (Environmental & Social Governance)We are currently looking for an experienced Sustainability & ESG Analyst to join our HQ support team.The main focus of the role is data collection and interrogation to identify cost and carbon savings. This may vary between looking at how an individual sites consume gas and electric, all the way through to how our products are packaged and transported.The majority of this data is used for compliance purposes, to report progress and achieve our sustainability objectives and targets.Daily responsibilities include:

  • Analysing electricity, gas, waste and water data to identify anomalies and trends, and emissions data for accuracy.
  • Work with multiple stakeholders to reduce energy consumption to realise cost and emissions savings.
  • Being the first point of contact for our energy bureau provider, ensuring SLAs are met and processing change of tenancys for electricity, gas and water accounts
  • Keeping the relevant company databases updated with the correct site utility information and that data is accurate for reporting purposes
  • Collating data for the annual investor ESG requirements and for legislation such as ESOS, SECR, plastic packaging tax, the Producer Responsibility Obligation: Packaging Waste, TCFD etc.
  • Integrate sustainability into policies across the organisation and help support training and colleague awareness of sustainability topics, playing your part in helping Bensons for Beds meet their Net Zero by 2040 target.
  • Take minutes during the sustainability focus group meetings and contribute to the development of the Bensons for Beds Sustainability Strategy
Skills neededWe are looking for an experienced Sustainability and ESG Analyst with the following skills, experience and attributes to be successful in this role:
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy, highly analytical with strong administration skills.
  • An ability to manage time and work load effectively to prioritise and organise accordingly
  • Able to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Work well with different stakeholders, able to build good working relationships and comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Have good spoken and written communication skills
  • Be confident about gathering facts and statistics
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel to compile large data sets to identify trends or errors with the ability to present the data in a concise way for a number of stakeholders.
