Job Description

Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Key Stage 1 (KS1)Job Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dynamic educational team, specifically focusing on Key Stage 1 (KS1). The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of high-quality education,assisting the class teacher, and contributing to the overall development and well-being of students in this key stage.Responsibilities:

  1. Teaching Assistance:
    • Collaborate with class teachers to plan, deliver, and assess effective learning experiences for Key Stage 1 students.
    • Provide individual and small-group support to students, addressing their specific learning needs and challenges.
    • Lead and supervise classroom activities under the guidance of the class teacher.
  2. Curriculum Support:
    • Support the implementation of the KS1 curriculum, ensuring alignment with educational standards and school policies.
    • Assist in the preparation of teaching materials, resources, and displays to enhance the learning environment.
  3. Student Engagement and Behavior Management:
    • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and participation.
    • Implement behavior management strategies, promoting a respectful and supportive atmosphere within the classroom.
  4. Assessment and Feedback:
    • Contribute to the assessment process by assisting in the evaluation of student progress and providing constructive feedback.
    • Assist in the preparation and administration of tests and examinations.
  5. Communication:
    • Maintain open and effective communication with parents, conveying information about student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
    • Collaborate with colleagues in regular team meetings and contribute to the overall school community.
  6. Professional Development:
    • Engage in continuous professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills relevant to the role.
    • Stay abreast of educational trends, curriculum changes, and best practices.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in Key Stage 1.
  • HLTA qualification is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take initiative when necessary.
  • Understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies.
  • Dedication to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
