Job Description

Our Brand Bensons for Beds is the largest Bed Retailer in the UK with 200+sites within shopping centres and retail parks. We are a self-sufficient brand, over 70% of our products are made in our UK based manufacturing sites. Across Logistics, Retail and Manufacturing we have over 4000+ employees. What the role Entails We are undergoing a great deal of change in our Brand, for the better. You, and the rest of the L+D Team, will be dealing with all aspects of the business, negotiating with Key Stakeholders to implement these changes through your extensive skills in Learning and Development.The Colleague Development Programme Manager will create and lead training interventions and events that will inspire and motivate colleagues to think and act differently. The role holder will create a lifelong learning culture which develops colleagues/Team Members, to put the customer at the heart of everything they do.This role will be based at our Head Office in Accrington, with some travel, and will report into the Learning and Development Manager. Your Responsibilities

  • Development and facilitation of colleague training programmes from induction through to aspiring management development
  • Design and delivery of operational training that upskills our colleagues in the essentials they require to effectively carry out their role
  • Deliver soft skills behavioural training to all colleague roles across the organisation
  • Understand the changing Apprenticeship landscape, have extensive knowledge of the Apprenticeships standards and Apprenticeship levy
  • In depth knowledge of Ofsted regulations
  • Identify the best attraction strategies for the Apprenticeship programme working in conjunction with the Resourcing team
  • Ensure a seamless onboarding of apprentices across all programmes and a successful off boarding at the end of programme
  • Responsible for maintaining comprehensive documentation and ensuring compliance with awarding organisations
  • Accurately submitting records on a monthly basis to draw down funding
  • Lead with L&D Manager on any Ofsted visits as required
  • Responsible for the timely completion of all learners, overseeing and reviewing the success, retention and progression of all learners
  • Work with L&D Manager to develop early careers programmes
  • Ensure our brand, values and culture are linked into all training
  • Apply a range of learning methodologies to provide inspirational and innovative learning interventions and engagements
  • Research new ways to make learning engaging including gamification and practical methods into training content and delivery
  • Responsible for running train the trainer sessions to ensure a cost effective delivery solution across all parts of the business
  • Understand the wider HR and Organisational priorities to ensure all training interventions are reflective of these
  • Analyse the impact of training and development interventions showing ROI
  • Maintain accurate records and associated data and produce timely reports on colleague training as required
  • Provide advice and guidance to the wider business on all aspects of colleague development showcasing the latest industry thinking
  • Influence colleagues on the importance of continuous learning for personal development, skills and techniques and knowledge transfer to support them in achieving their optimum capability
  • Liaise with commercial teams to ensure product training is provided including new product launches to all colleagues
  • Ensure product training is planned in and delivered at timely intervals throughout the calendar year exploiting opportunities for large team training sessions when events allow
  • Maintain a full UK driving license, the role will require some UK travel.
  • What we are looking for:
  • CIPD qualifies desirable
  • trong Learning and Development background with previous retail, product and manufacturing training experience
  • Experience of working with an LMS
  • Experienced coach / facilitator
  • Knowledge of e-learning method
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft standard packages
  • Good knowledge of creating eLearning solutions
  • Experience of leading on or supporting an Apprenticeship scheme
  • Design and delivery of training at all levels
  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships
  • Good project management skills
