Pay Rate: £10.77 - £11.08Duration: 3 months (possibility to extend)Location: PortlethenInterview: Face to FaceHours of Work: Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pmAs Warehouse Assistant, your job role will encompass; Receipt, Issuance, Locate, Pick, and despatch all commodities within the warehouse function, ensuring that all transactions are executed through our Warehouse Management System. During the execution ofthis role there will be a requirement to use mechanical handling equipment and hand tools also following process and procedures with an emphasis on continual improvement.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:• Packing all 3rd party and intercompany shipments being distributed from the facility.• Assist with general warehouse tasks as requested in other sections within the warehouse.• Physically checking, counting, and packing materials• Operates various storage and transport equipment, i.e., Powered forklifts, Overhead crane• Safe loading and unloading of trucks for shipments that arrive/depart the facility• Responsible for complying with all company HS&E (Health & Safety) and warehouse procedural requirements• Responsible for maintaining a high standard of housekeeping• Participate in Observation Reporting System to identify potential hazards within the workplace• Participate in on-call rota as required• Responsible for carrying out a reasonable amount of overtime as and when required and in line with operational requirements• To support the Warehouse Manager or supervisors in performing other duties as and when requiredQualificationsEssential• Standard Grade Level of Secondary Education or equivalentDesirable• Technical qualification related to the job role• Basic IT skills with word/excelQualificationsEssential• Previous experience within a warehouse environmentDesirable• Use of ERP SystemsSkills, training, or special knowledgeEssential• Computer literacy including basic knowledge of Microsoft/ application.• Good communication skillsDesirable• Practical training on all essential workshop lifting equipment incl.
