Job Title: Volunteer Co-ordinator Team Manager,Salary: £29,607Childline is a helpline service for children and young people who contact us about a wide range of issues. Our trained counsellors, made up primarily by volunteers and supported by a team of staff, provide support over the phone, by email and through 1-2-1chat. Childline is a 24 hour, 7 days a week service and is open for children and young people 365 days a year.The Volunteer Coordinator Team Manager will support the Service Head for Volunteering to manage and evaluate the implementation of the service volunteering and onboarding strategy.The role will manage, support and develop a team of volunteer coordinators to deliver base operational plans in respect of volunteer recruitment, development and retention which is aligned to the service strategy and ambitions. The post holder will holdoversight of all Volunteer Coordinator activity and work with the Service Head of Volunteering to ensure we have sufficient numbers of high quality volunteers to support the service ambitions of being there for children at all times.We are looking for a candidate with experience of operational management, strategy implementation and staff line management experience. They should also have experience of working with volunteers, and supporting recruitment, training and retention activities,and of meeting targets set around these areas. In addition, you will have a sound knowledge of current research and recommendations relating to volunteer issues and have the ability to prioritise, plan and organise tasks and activities effectively. You shouldalso be strongly committed to the work of the NSPCC and Childline and our aims.The post holder will be required to be flexible and work some unsocial hours to meet volunteer related operational need.
