Thats the SGN way!Once you have completed the interview process, and should be successful, SGN will help create a career path for you, either as a Trainee Pressure Control Craftsperson or a Trainee Pipelines Craftsperson. Please note that for either role, you will beexpected to participate in a standby rota to deliver a 24/7 out-of-hours emergency support service.Trainee Pressure Control CraftspersonThis role is all about the maintenance of the pressure reduction equipment and safety devices at the gas installations across SGNs depots and sites. Day to day will involve:

  • Completing routine maintenance checks
  • Responding to faults on the network
  • Continued checks on corrosion of pipework and equipment
  • Providing reports where necessary
Trainee Pipelines CraftspersonAs a Pipelines Craftsperson you will understand the importance of corrosion control, condition assessment and maintenance on our high-pressure steel pipeline networks. Day to day will involve:
  • Assessing the pipelines condition
  • Preventing damage by third party activities
  • Keeping the pipeline safe
  • Regularly surveying the pipeline network

WHAT YOU WILL NEEDYou will need to have enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, with a logical approach to fault finding and problem solving. Were looking for highly motivated individuals who are well organised and able to work to deadlines and targets.A relevant technical, practical aptitude is desirable, along with IT literacy and a responsible approach to Health and Safety. Good communication is also important in order to work effectively on SGNs behalf.Please note this role also requires a full driving license.
