Job Description

Position: Small Building Works TechnicianLocation: Covering Sites in the North of Scotland - covering Inverness, Elgin, Fraserburgh, Peterhead, Aberdeen, Portlethen, Dundee Areas Salary: £27,948 + van, uniform, phone, 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)Hours: 45 hours a week - Monday to FridayFull Time and PermanentAn outstanding opportunity has arisen within a large and dynamic Facilities Management company, who continue to enjoy sustained growth with its impressive multi-site client base which includes a National Facilities contract for ASDA.They are looking to recruit a Small Building Works Technician to look after a number of ASDA Stores in the North Scotland region, so covering ASDA stores in Inverness, Elgin, Fraserburgh, Peterhead, Aberdeen, Portlethen and Dundee Areas.Our client are flexible on where you are based if you live within these regions and are willing to travel on a daily basis.The role is full time and permanent and is 45 hours a week, Monday to Friday.Job Purpose:To maintain and repair the general building fabric in the ASDA stores throughout the region in an efficient and cost-effective manner. So will involve joinery, basic building work such as plastering and brickwork, changing locks, repairs to shelving, point of sale signage etc.Key accountabilities include: -

  • To complete general repairs and maintenance to the ASDA stores as designated by the Operations Manager, e.g. repairs to the building fabric, shelving or point of sale signage
  • To carry out minor alterations and installations
  • To identify non-repairable issues and promptly advise the Operations Manager of findings
  • To advise the Operations Manager of any repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the supermarkets
  • To respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the helpdesk
  • To prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times
  • To maintain accurate time sheets and mileage logs
  • To comply with the company H&S policy at all times
    • Candidates background & experience: -
  • Suitable candidates should hold a Carpentry / Joinery qualification (or equivalent) or a similar building qualification
  • Previous experience in a building maintenance role
  • Able to use ladders and work in confined spaces
  • Good effective communicator
  • Full UK driving licence and flexible to travel throughout the North of Scotland.
