Your opportunityDeloitte is known for its innovation and future thinking; bring your Enterprise level skills and experience in Business and Applications Architecture to bolster a team driving us to the next level. You will join an established team of Enterprise Architects committed to identifying and implementing innovative technologies to ensure that Deloitte remains the leading global provider of audit and assurance, consulting, financial advisory, risk advisory, tax, legal and related services. You will have early lifecycle design responsibility in the areas of Business Architecture and Applications Architecture. Bring your extensive knowledge and experience to help us define a joined-up, multi-national business model, capability model and supporting enterprise applications architecture, as well as the roadmap to get there. You will work closely with business representatives and directly influence the direction and high level design of strategic solutions, as well as thestrategy, roadmap and future state architecture in our enterprise applications landscape.Your roleAlthough we expect and encourage Enterprise Architects to be aware of and conversant in all of the classic EA domains - Business, Applications, Data, Infrastructure, Security and Service Management - this role will see you spending more time in the BusinessApplications space, across the following activities:

  • Work directly with the business as well as with business relationship managers, business analysts, operational leaders and other architects at local, regional and global levels, to map the current state business and applications architectures for the UKfirm, with growing emphasis upon global and regional enterprise applications.
  • Define the target state business and applications architectures, capturing and using as input the UK business vision, as well as the levels of ambition and potential for process and capability harmonization across the region and globally.
  • Based on analysis of the current state vs target state, overlaying known in-flight and planned initiatives, perform gap analysis to identify where additional investment is necessary to close the gaps and move closer to the target state, prioritizing pragmatismover architectural purity.
  • Help the business make more well-informed decisions about where and how they spend their change capacity, which is limited by available budget, people, management and the business ability to absorb change. Influence the planning, budgeting and ongoinginvestment processes to move the organisation closer to a future state architecture that delivers against the vision and that improves user experience, is more effective, cost efficient, agile, sustainable, resilient and secure.
  • Drive and support collaborative solution option analysis and, on the basis of this analysis, recommend the high level solution and approach.
  • Support (and on occasion own) the development of high-level business cases (HLBCs) that flesh out the recommended solution with estimated time, cost, work breakdown, risks, dependencies and assumptions. Support (and on occasion own) taking these HLBCsthrough governance for acceptance into the sponsored Portfolio of Change.
  • Continue to keep a watching brief and governing role on initiatives as they flow through the waterfall and agile change lifecycles through design, build, test and implementation. Chair the Gate 2 checkpoint which signs off on the detailed design, adherenceto standards and other non-functional requirements (NFRs).
  • Develop and maintain on at least an annual basis the Strategic Technology Roadmap in your domain(s).
  • Act as a design authority in your domain(s).
  • Liaise with regional and global colleagues on regional and global programmes, and to align on standards and policies.
  • Know where to find global policies and standards; contribute to the maintenance of applicable local policies, standards and principles.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Business Change, Business Applications, CISO, Risk and other areas to "bring" Enterprise Architecture thinking and influence into discussions about the future technology landscape, as well as the annual planning cycle. Alsobring your own thoughts about potential initiatives that will lead us closer to the future state architecture.
