An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced Audiologist with a specialised interest in vestibular assessment and rehabilitation to lead and further develop vestibular services within Grampian. The post-holder should have proven experience of multi-disciplinary collaboration with a view to developing pathways and protocols with other relevant professionals to deliver direct access vestibular care. The post-holder will have scope to practice in other areas of Audiology that are of clinical interest and will also be expected to deputise in the absence of the head of service regarding operational issues pertaining to adult services within Aberdeen City and the Shire. Participation at peripheral locations within Grampian is also expected.This friendly and innovative department currently employs 27.44 WTE comprising clinical Audiologists, assistant technical officers, new-born hearing screeners and clerical staff. The main base at Woodend Hospital and all peripheral locations have been fully modernised to provide equitable services across Grampian. There is also a dedicated and modernised Audiology facility located with a separate Children’s Hospital.The department has a wide range of responsibilities covering the entirety of Audiological provision to adults and children throughout the Grampian region of Scotland. The clinical services provided include neonatal screening, community and hospital-based testing, diagnostic audio-vestibular assessment and rehabilitation, Hearing Therapy, tinnitus management, adult and paediatric auditory (re)habilitation, as well as a bone anchored hearing aid programme.Grampian is particularly rich in natural beauty with the Cairngorm Mountains, skiing, walking and sailing right on the doorstep.Aberdeen is a bright, cosmopolitan city with excellent facilities for education, leisure and shopping.
