RECRUITMENTiQ is working in partnership with a global pharmaceutical company focused on developing therapeutics from the human gut microbiome. Live biotherapeutic products (LBPs) derived from the gut microbiome represent a new class of drugs that containlive organisms for the prevention, treatment, or cure of disease. We area world leader in the LBP field and currently has a number of clinical stage programmes (in IBS, IBD, oncology, and asthma) and a strong pipeline of additional pre-clinical programmesin autoimmunity, inflammation, and CNS diseases.To continue the success and expansion of this established business, a vacancy has arisen for a Research Technician to join our team.The RoleThe successful candidate will support the activities of the Microbiology/Engineering team in Aberdeen. This will primarily involve performing cloning and bacterial transformations and applying functional genomics approaches to understand the mode of actionof candidate LBPs.The post-holder will also be responsible for preparing reagents and maintaining stock levels, along with sample database management. Training for specific assays and techniques will be provided.Experience and Skills
