Job Description

REED Engineerings client in Aberdeen require a Principal Chemist from a Scale background to join their expanding team.This is a newly created position to accommodate an upturn in work and presents a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to join a thriving business with a great reputation.The main purpose of the role will be to deliver continuous improvement in the following areas -

  • Project Management - Design and supervision
  • Evaluations and syntheses of new materials
  • Product development and formulation
  • Product performance screening; development of new evaluation techniques
  • Laboratory testing of scale inhibitors
    • Other responsibilities of the role will include, but not be limited to -
  • Work closely with the R&D staff to assess and provide solutions to customer problems
  • Carry out lab work and provide customers with an adequate technical response
  • Evaluate new raw materials and commercially available products - design and/or synthesise new materials
  • Source raw materials to reduce the environmental impact of the existing product lines
  • Continuous review of the physical and chemical application techniques for products
  • Evaluate new test apparatus or modify existing equipment to improve analysis or develop new types of analysis
    • We are looking for candidates with the following -
  • BSc Hons, MSc or PhD in a Chemistry or related technical field
  • Proven experience within a similar role
  • Previous experience of molecular synthesis
  • Previous experience of managing research projects
