Job Description

Onsite Wind Turbine TechnicianLocation: Inverness/ Oban/ AberdeenSalary: £29,000 - £35,000, Depending on ExperienceHours of Work: Monday to Friday, with on call coverOverview:Hardman Grey Recruitment is currently seeking an Onsite Wind Turbine Technician on behalf of our client. The successful candidate will work closely with departments in the UK and other group companies. Some travel abroad will be required. The successful Onsite Wind Turbine Technician will be responsible for:

  • Completion of relevant paperwork (work order cards, checklists, AWPs etc)
  • Performing full range of turbine services (servicing, troubleshooting and major component exchange projects)
  • Troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Assisting in all areas of site operations
  • Providing safe access and egress to all people in the work party
  • Supporting preventative and corrective maintenance and troubleshooting on multiple technologies
  • Leading a team of technicians whilst ensuring health and safety procedures are followed
  • Checking relevant tooling and equipment is ready for use and certified
  • Compliance with customer requirements and site rules
  • Participating in a rota for on call cover for weekends or bank holidays
  • Communicating with clients and management within the business
  • Reporting any health and safety incidents
  • Establishing and maintaining a general safety from the system
Ideally the Onsite Wind Turbine Technician will;
  • Have a minimum of HNC/HND, NVQ level 3 electrical/ mechanical qualification or relevant experience in a similar industry
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of electrical/ hydraulic/ mechanical experience in ideally the wind industry
  • Have a valid UK driving licence and passport
  • Have willingness to work in adverse weather conditions
  • Have a strategic and problem solving mindset with strong communication
  • Be able to work at heights
It will be beneficial to have;
  • Valid health and safety certificates (GWOs, RUK medical etc)
  • Proficiency in MS suite
The successful Onsite Wind Turbine Technician will need to be permitted to live and work in the UK and pass a pre-employment medical and fitness test before a formal offer of employment can be made. Benefits:
