An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new and innovative role of Research & Practice Development Lead Nurse / Midwife in NHS Grampian. This full time (37.5hours per week) Band 8B position will be the strategic lead for nursing and midwifery research and development board wide with a focus on developing research capacity and capability and leading the implementation of NMAHP research and development strategic priorities. The post holder will represent nursing and midwifery professions locally, regionally and nationally & internationally within internal and external research structures and work collaboratively with academic partners and national agencies to develop clinical academic research careers. Applicants will be educated to Doctorate level and hold a valid NMC registration and able will demonstrate strong professional leadership and proven success in a senior leadership level with a multi-disciplinary health care setting. The successful applicant will be able to use practice development, person-centred theories and a range of research methodologies required for health service research as well as demonstrating varied clinical experience. This role through strategic leadership, strong collaborative relationships with Higher Education Institutes and other stakeholders will provide a leading role in contributing to NHS Grampian’s strategic aims and board priorities.
