Job Description

First Achieves Engineering Division are continuing to work with only the best Manufacturing & Engineering companies throughout the UK. One of our most recent assignments with an incredibly successful group in Aberdeen, means we are seeking a MaintenanceEngineer.Our Client operate globally and have several state-of-the-art facilities in the UK where they complete work for a variety of industries, including: Oil and Gas, Renewable Energy, Nuclear, etc.The Role:

  • Liaise and co-ordinate maintenance activities on plant/equipment and building with the Site Supervisor and reporting to the Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor, using the maintenance report forms.
  • Carry out maintenance on plant and equipment as required, in accordance with the Companys safety management system.
  • Liaise with and coordinate third party maintenance contractors as required.
  • Carry out inspection and maintenance on safety equipment (including WAH equipment, lifting equipment) using the approved recording methods.
  • Electrical system installations and provide technical expertise to installation teams when needed.
  • Use blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturers installation manuals to complete projects.
  • Complete work orders and recording materials.
  • Identify and repair electrical problems and faults.
  • Advise on purchase of all materials and parts related to required maintenance.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.
  • To carry out inspection and maintenance on safety equipment as required.
  • To advise supervisors / management of all materials and parts related to maintenance that are required for purchase.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.
  • Carry out any other reasonable task / activities as requested by Management.
Skills and Experience
  • Ability to fault find on a wide range of engineering / fabrication workshop equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to complete designated tasks within stipulated time frames as required by operational demands.
  • Possess a high level of focus and attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with high initiative and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work overtime, periodic weekends and night shift if needed.
Successful Candidate:
  • Experience in a recognised mechanical discipline with experience working in a machine / fabrication workshop.
  • Experience in the operational maintenance of machine tools including preventative and breakdown scenarios.
  • Knowledge in machine control electrical systems (Preferred)
  • Relevant trade recognised qualification i.e. SVQ Level 3 Mechanical / Electrical /Maintenance or equivalent. (Preferred)
  • Knowledge in single /3 phase motor systems. (Preferred)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. (Preferred)
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. (Preferred)
