Hours: 37.5 hours per week Location: Aberdeen CityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Lead for the Primary Care Psychological Therapy Service in the South of Aberdeen City. The post is full time but part time applicants are welcome.This post provides team leadership for the Psychological Therapies Service for adults with common mental health problems (at Tier 2) presenting in Primary Care. The postholder will join the existing team of two Clinical/Counselling Psychologists, the Team Lead for the North of the City and 9 Psychological Therapists. The postholder will line manage 5 Psychological Therapists in addition to providing psychological therapy.The post is supported by supervision from a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist and will be line managed by the Health & Social Care Partnership Lead for Optometry, Dentistry and Psychological Therapies. The post is based at City Hospital and clinical work will be conducted within GP surgeries or other Primary Care health facilities. NB: Due to COVD 19, currently most work will take place remotely using telephone or Near Me to contact patients and Microsoft Teams to work with staff.The post holder will provide a service within the South of Aberdeen City. The clinical role will involve assessing and providing psychological therapy for patients with a range of mental health problems including depression and a range of anxiety disorders. These interventions will be in line with best practice as identified by SIGN and NICE guidance. There will also be an expectation that the postholders will develop strong links with Social Care and Third Sector partners.The postholder will have high level skills in psychological therapy, having obtained, for example, an MSc in Psychological Therapy in Primary Care, a PG Diploma in CBT (or equivalent, see Person Specification for more details).
