Job Description

GIS TechnicianOur client is a global Oil & Gas Engineering business focused on offshore related projects. They are now seeking a GIS Technician for a 4-month contract.The selected candidate will help with GIS data loading, system architecture, and administration. The responsibilities include using GIS software to build deliverables by tendering, engineering, using project development, as well as operations and R&D.MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • You will apply and reap the advantages of cutting-edge GIS technology and applications across projects, disciplines, and departments.
  • You must manage, plan, coordinate, and execute GIS Technology related to map development, geographic data management, and spatial information distribution in accordance with the Subsea 7 Group/Enterprise R&D programme.
  • You will implement Web-based GIS solutions to allow non-specialists, project stakeholders, remote sites, and clients to access data easily.
  • Manage and direct services for creating, installing, and maintaining special-purpose applications in accordance with company objectives.
  • Be in charge of obtaining and disseminating GIS expertise, recommendations, and guidance to the organisation.
  • Participate in and assist corporate initiatives and activities by providing customised 2D and 3D visual geospatial and engineering representations of pertinent data and information.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience as GIS Technician or equivalent
  • Experience using Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Able to use software packages such as Word, Excel, and AutoCAD
  • Experience with industry-standard databases (e.g. SQL, Oracle)
  • Experience in industry-standard data models (e.g. PODS, SSDM, APDM)
