Job Description

Design Engineer required for my client within the oilfield equipment manufacturer industry, based in Aberdeen.The successful Design Engineer is responsible for the assistance in all design of new company products, verifying companys designs and comply special requirements.Design Engineer Position Overview

  • Update existing designs in order to meet new or additional specification requirements as well as customer interface, relations and contract review activities.
  • The preparation, control and issue of all engineering drawings in accordance with specified procedures.
  • The control maintenance and updating of all project engineering files.
  • Control and issue of all documentation by certifying authority and sub-contractors.
  • Dispositions for non-conforming products.
  • Contract reviews, Issue drawings and material requisitions.
  • Review of sub vendor weld procedures and proposals.
  • Familiarisation with CAD in order to; a) Produce competent draft drawings and sketches for sales enquiries, b) To produce manufacturing drawings from sketches and c) Prepare design calculations.
Design Engineer Position Requirements
  • Degree or HNC/HND qualified within mechanical design / design engineering - or a relatable subject.
  • Previous experience working within a design engineering role, within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced within CAD drawings and relative softwares used.
  • Based within a commutable distance of Aberdeen.
  • Full UK driving licence is beneficial.
Design Engineer Position Remuneration
  • Salary - £28,000 to £35,000 - dependent upon experience, skill and qualifications.
  • Full time position - 8am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday - 1 hour break for lunch. (37.5 hours a week).
  • Holidays 30 days (inclusive of 10 public holidays).
  • Pension after 3 months probationary (5% employee., 3% Employer).
  • Death in service after 1 years service - 2 times salary.
  • Health Insurance offered after 2 years service for employee & family.
