Job Description

Fresh has an exciting opportunity available for an Assistant General Manager to join their team at Caledon Courtbased in Aberdeen.You will join on a full time, contract basis in return for a competitive salary of £26,000per annum.Fresh is a successful and growing business, currently managing in excess of 15,000 beds across 55 buildings spread throughout the UK and the Republic of Ireland.Fresh is a service provider. We believe, however, that we consistently offer excellent services, and are proud of our service levels and our staff who deliver those services.We want people to join our team who have the necessary expertise in their specialised area, and who share our commitment and passion for delivering consistently good quality services.About the Assistant General Manager roleAs our Assistant General Manager,you will work in a large purpose-built student accommodation scheme as part of a small team assisting in the day to day running of the site. You will assist in the year on year letting of the building, collectingthe rent, and ensuring the building is a safe and great place to live.The position is a hands-on position that will require you to be able to balance the serious aspects of the role while providing a social and fun atmosphere to create a community where students want to live and work.You will deputise for General Manager in their absence.Working Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00-17:00 - Occasional WeekendsResponsibilities of our Assistant General Manager include:

  • Assist in the implementation of a plan to let the building for the academic year.
  • Keep abreast of market changes and regular updating of the competitor analysis.
  • Regular review site marketing material to ensure compliance with brand standards, relevance and up-to-date content.
  • Ensure all statutory testing is completed on time and recorded as appropriate, ensuring the property fully complies with all relevant legislation.
  • Report all Health & Safety issues to the General Manager to allow investigation and actions to be completed.
  • Monitoring monthly expenditure in line with the approved budget.
  • Liaison with internal accounts team for processing of invoices, production of P&L and general account queries.
  • Assist in the collection of rents on time, using approved methods.
  • Monitor and review third party contractors.
  • Maintain compliance with ANUK code of standards.
  • Identify new opportunities to add value to the site and services delivered.
Skills and experience required by our Assistant General Manager:
  • Ability to adapt style to communicate with clients, universities, students and colleagues.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in difficult situations.
  • Good standard of written and verbal communication skills.
  • 100% Occupancy
  • Collection of all the rents from the students.
  • Controlling expenditure in line with budget.
  • Achieve a minimum of Bronze level in Internal Quality Audit
  • Full building Health and Safety Compliance
  • High-quality presentation of the buildingFresh Factor
  • Customer Satisfaction of 90% or above
  • Excellent relationships with the local academic institutions.
  • Good Organisational skills and management of own workload
