Job Role: Social WorkerAdult CareLocation: AberdeenJob Type: Temporary, FlexiblePay Rate: CompetitiveJob DescriptionProvide a full range of professional social work service to adults in Aberdeenshirewho have learning disabilities, by working in partnership with service users, theirfamilies and carers, relevant professionals, other agencies and the widercommunity.Your Main Responsibilities will be: Direct work with adults with learning disabilities and their families/carers. Undertake self-directed support assessments with adults with learning disabilities resident in Aberdeenshire. Assist in support planning to meet eligible outcomes. Provide advice and support to adults with learning disabilities and their families/carers. Prepare, implement and review risk assessments. Support the provision or commission services to meet eligible outcomes. Monitoring and reviewing of support plans and services. Manage a devolved budget in accordance with the clients Financial Regulations. Multi-disciplinary working. Undertake Adult Support and Protection duties. Produce all relevant reports and maintain both electronic and written case and administrative records in accordance with statutory requirements and clients policies & procedures.QualificationsEssential: BA Honours Degree in Social Work, Dip SW or equivalent. Registered with the Scottish Social Services Council. To have completed, or be willing to complete, Adult Support and Protection training up to level 4 (Council Officer).Desirable: Specialist qualification in working with adults with learning disabilities or autistic spectrum disorders. Adult Support and Protection training up to level 4 (Council Officer).ExperienceEssential: Experience of working in social work community-based settings. Experience of working directly with service users in crisis, their families and carers. Experience of writing formal reports and assessments. Experience in undertaking social work assessments. Experience in undertaking risk assessments Willing to attend all relevant training. Capacity to work effectively with team members and other agencies.Desirable: Working with adults with learning disabilities. Ability to manage a devolved budget. Working in multi-disciplinary team settingsKnowledge & SkillsEssential: Knowledge and understanding of the needs of adults with learning disabilities and their families/carers. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a range of individuals including service users and other professionals Have a knowledge of practice, policy, procedures and legislation relevant to the post Good administrative qualities, IT and numeracy skills, Good organisational & time management skills Caring and approachable attitude Resilience, flexibility and the ability to work purposefully under pressure. Able to work flexible hours Ability to work on own initiative.
