A lovely Secondary School in RCT is looking for an experienced SEN Teaching assistant to start after the May Half Term.This role is full time until at least July 2021 working with children who have SEN.*One to one and small group work **Enthusiastic and friendly SEN Teaching Assistant **Experience and knowledge within special educational needs essential - Autism/SEMH/BESD*PECS or Makaton desirable **Team Teach desirable **Long term role to start immediatelyThe successful applicant will be working in a large and well-resourced SEN School. The school cater for children aged 11-19 with complex learning difficulties including: autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), moderate to severe learning difficulties, physical difficulties and Behaviour, Emotional & Social difficulties (BESD). The successful SEN TA will be working as part of a team, working closely with the SEN Teachers and SENCO to provide the best education in the classrooms.Applicants should be exceptional communicators and strong team-players, able to fit in well with the supportive staff-team at the school. We are looking for a pro-active and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who can bring to the post lots of ideas and a passion for working with SEN children. Previous experience working with SEN is essential for this role, ideally within a school environment with children. Alternatively, experienced SEN Teaching Assistants should have NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification and have experience delivering specialist interventions with SEN children or learners.Previous training in alternative communication techniques such as PECS or Makaton would be advantageous to the role but not essential.
