Our client specialises in the production and decoration of high-quality plastic bottles, jars, flexible tubes and closures They currently have an urgent requirement for a Multi-Skilled Technician / Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. Job Purpose Use both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering skills and knowledge to maintain and enhance the performance of plant and equipment. Provide first class, flexible support to production requirements and factory services at all times. Qualifications / requirements * Recognised engineering qualifications (essential) * Time served apprenticeship or equivalent (essential) * Knowledge of Pneumatics Systems (Essential) * Knowledge of Hydraulic systems (Essential) * Previous maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment (Essential) * Understanding of PLC systems and various control systems * Understanding and ability to carry out basic Electrical and Electronic fault finding. * Self-managing - Must be able to work under own supervision or as part of a team and have excellent communication skills. * Methodical record keeping Responsibilities * Ensure accurate and timely records are recorded of all work carried out, root causes of failures and of spares or consumables used. * Ensure engineering downtime is accurately logged, monitor repair times, and find new methods or procedures to reduce these. * Ensure PPM systems are followed and completed as required. * Provide engineering support to production to ensure efficient performance of all equipment. * Ensure that all H&S procedures, engineering best practices are always adhered to.
