Job Description

The head of an inclusion unit in an Aberdare comprehensive school is looking for an LSA to start a 1:1 role on the 8th March. The role will be set over five days a week supporting a male year 9 pupil who is also a looked after child. The pupil will need support until the end of the academic year, however, if the candidate gets on well, the school will be looking to take them onto permanent contract after a successful three month probationary period.*Please note that the school will also be able to facilitate someone looking for part time work depending on the candidate£60-£70 a day

  • Three days a week (School can be flexible around you)
  • 8:30 – 15:00 start and finish times
  • 8th March start date
  • Role will go permanent depending on your performance
  • The school is based in Aberdare and has recently undergone the merger of two schools to create a vast, state of the art complex. Completion on the new site finished last year and boasts 4G sports pitches, performing art studios, state of the art music and art rooms and technology hubs as well as purpose built SEN and behaviour units.The ideal candidate will have experience working with challenging behaviour and will have a patient and calm demeanour. The pupil sometimes struggles with concentration in lessons and needs a positive adult role model to help support him in his academic and social interactions around the school.
